Introduction

Hello, my name is Grover Williams. I am currently a Junior with at the University of Colorado at Denver. I am currently trying to become a Recording Arts Major to finish off my degree. The reason why I chose The Sahara Desert for my blog entries is because I have always been fascinated with the animals and landscapes of the desert. The Sahara Desert is easily one of the most impressive landscapes in the world with numerous of different wildlife creatures and forms of land. Most of its landscape has been shaped by wind as you can see below:

As a little kid if someone were to mention animals to me I would automatically think of lions, zebra, camels and all the other types of animals you can find in Africa. The Sahara Desert has more than just land and wildlife. North Africa’s countries such as, Algeria, Libya, Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Egypt and Sudan makes up for a majority of the Sahara Desert.

Trees and a Volcano
The sand is very much the common ground for most of North Africa but I thought that’s all it was back then. Now I know that the Sahara Desert is heavily made up of Seas, Volcanoes, Plateaus and even some grasslands that make up for other parts of the Huge Desert. The light grasslands and moisture will most likely be found in the north and south parts of the Sahara Desert. It is one of the most extreme humid areas in the Continent of Africa with distinct habitats and unique scenery. It is all of the above plus much more and is actually a huge desert that makes up environments, cultures and impressive landscapes. That’s what makes the Sahara Desert much more interesting to me as it is the top area I will love to visit.
